The second phase of the More Sustainable Buildings Program 2021 has arrived! Given the huge demand the entire phase one budget ran out before the end of 2020 and the second phase, included in the Recovery and Resilience Plan, comes with new features!
The program’s main objective is to improve the energy and environmental performance of buildings, fight energy poverty and contribute to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, in line with the European and National environmental goals (PNEC 2030). It is also expected that it will lead to a reduction of at least 30% in primary energy consumption. With a financing of €30,000,000 (thirty million euros), the program aims to promote:
Rehabilitation;
Decarbonization;
Energy efficiency;
Hybrid efficiency;
Circular economy.
Who can apply?
Individual, owners and co-owners of single-family homes, multi-family homes or autonomous fractions. In addition, buildings built and licensed until 1 July 2021 are included, with some exceptions.
This program is exclusive to the national territory.
How to apply?
Applications are open from June 22, 2021 until 23:59 on November 30, 2021, unless the fund runs out early. So, hurry up as time is of the essence!

What are the key terms?
The program participates up to 85% of the investiment cost (excluding VAT) up to a maximum of:
- €7,500 per single-family building or autonomous fraction;
- €15,000 in the case of a multifamily building.
If interventions in the first phase of the program have already been supported, these amounts are deducted from those financed since 7 September 2020.
