The Portuguese are increasingly looking for sustainable solutions for energy production and consumption. According to a study carried out by the Instituto IO Sondea de Investigación de Mercados, 86% of respondents are willing to invest in producing energy for self-consumption. This is driven by desire to reduce the electricity bill and support the development of mores sustainable energy solutions. This trend is likely to have been strengthen by the recent increase in energy costs. Therefore, it is important that you invest to produce your own energy!
More than half (61%) of those who participated in the survey say they want to invest in photovoltaic panels for self-consumption in the coming years and 25% say they are ready to go ahead with the investment next year.
This study also notes that the main obstacles to moving forward with this type of investment identified by the participants in the survey are: logistics of the installation, necessary licenses and the duration of the works and the cost of installing and maintaining the panels (42%). Only 19% believe that the technology is not sufficiently developed.
On the flip side 42% highlighted support for investment (Environmental Fund) and 39% are interested in the possibility of selling energy that is not consumed..
